Minister highlights inclusion and diversity as part of International Day of Persons with Disabilities

    Joedy Wall was a senior transitional group home counsellor for 29 years before politics and worked with mentally delayed and autistic adults, saying everyone has something to offer.

    December 3rd was International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and this year’s theme is “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.” NL’s Social Supports and Well-Being Minister is also responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities. Joedy Wall was a senior transitional group home counsellor for 29 years before politics and worked with mentally delayed and autistic adults. He says everyone has something to offer, and inclusion and  diversity is a priority for government. 

    Yesterday, Premier Tony Wakeham released a “unified mandate letter for his entire team of Ministers outlining expectations and priorities, saying “these expectations will ensure better healthcare, lower taxes, and safer communities – for all of us.”
