Scott Reid says the 150-bed project will replace the current facility which was built in 1976.
The MHA for St. George’s-Humber believes a new long term care centre coming to Stephenville Crossing will help fill the growing need for such centres in the province. Scott Reid says the 150-bed project will replace the current facility which was built in 1976. The site is nearly six hectares of land that was previously owned by Reid Newfoundland Company lands. Reid says the land was most recently owned by the town and it took time to expropriate it. Budget 2025 allocated $1 million for the initial phase of the facility’s replacement, including design work, site preparation and other pre-construction activities.
