Matthew Todd Batt will appear in Corner Brook provincial court.

The RNC is continuing to look for video footage or witnesses of a tragic incident that claimed the life of a 91 year-old man in Curling early Monday morning. 37-year-old Matthew Todd Batt of Benoit’s Cove was allegedly driving under the influence when he struck the man near Georgetown Road around 12:30 a.m. He has been charged with impaired driving causing death.

Batt will appear in Corner Brook provincial court again Thursday for a bail hearing. He’s also facing drug trafficking charges stemming from a prior incident, on top of charges for failure to comply with a condition of a release order.
