Corner Brook residents may not be able to cast their votes by mail in the municipal election on October 2. At Monday night’s public meeting, council issued a notice of motion to repeal the City of Corner Brook Municipal Election Vote by Mail Regulations at the next Council Meeting on June 23rd. Mayor Jim Parsons says during the last election, there was an option for people to vote by mail and about 500 votes were cast that way. He says there will be two advance polls, mobile polls to long term care residents, and people can also vote by proxy. Residents have an opportunity to provide input on the proposed repeal up until June 18th. For more information go to cornerbrook.com
