Line damage causes power outage along North Shore

    Most of the North Shore of the Bay of Islands is without power today due to an unplanned power outage. 

    UPDATE: power is now expected to be restored by 10 p.m.

    Newfoundland Power says the outage is due to overhead line damage in the area and is affecting areas from Irishtown-Summerside to Cox’s Cove. It is affecting some 1700 customers and started just after 10 a.m. Saturday. 

    According to the utility, crews are on site however there is no estimated restoration time yet.
