Kayla Lucas, Manager of Post Secondary Education with Qalipu First Nations, says grade twelve students will be finishing up June 20th and it’s time to think about what to do next.
High school students are anxiously awaiting the last day of school. It’s also time to get funding applications in for any post secondary hopefuls. On this week’s edition of Qalipu Today, host Lenny Benoit spoke with Kayla Lucas, Manager of Post Secondary Education with Qalipu First Nations. She says grade twelve students will be finishing up June 20th and it’s time to think about what to do next. Lucas says June 30th is the deadline to apply for financial assistance. She says while students don’t have their final marks yet, they can apply now with their mid-term results, a conditional post secondary acceptance letter, and a completed application at qalipu.ca. Lucas says once the application is submitted, students can add documentation later. She says so far they have 132 applications and last year there were 373 applications at the end of June.
