It's International Women's Day

    Cindy Allen, who is a councillor working at Willow House, says feminism has a lot of different meanings for each person.

    Today is International Women’s Day. It serves a reminder of incredible strides made towards gender equality, while recognizing there is still work to do. This year’s National theme is “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” Paula Sheppard is the executive director of the Corner Brook Status of Women Council. On Bayfm’s the Plain Truth this week, Sheppard’s guest was Cindy Allen, who is a councillor working at Willow House. Allen says feminism has a lot of different meanings for each person. Allen says women have still not reached a level of equality. The global theme for International Women’s Day is “Inspire Inclusion”
