Samples tested on August 3rd showed the presence of E-coli and a boil water advisory was issued late Friday.
It will take some time and money to find a solution to water woes in the town of Steady Brook. Samples tested on August 3rd showed the presence of E-coli and a boil water advisory was issued late Friday. Mayor Bill Dawson says they test water on a regular basis and once a month, ServiceNL will test. He says last Thursday’s test results showed E-coli was present. Dawson says a boil water order was put in place immediately due to low chlorine levels. He says chlorine is used to kill bacteria and levels can drop for a variety of reasons, such as mechanical, heavy rain, runoff, water temperatures, high humidity, and more. The Mayor says they will be testing this week to determine the next move.
