Housing help for some living in a tent community near Confederation Buidling

    As part of these efforts, all individuals have been offered shelter placements. Several individuals have completed both housing and income support applications, while several individuals have made other community connections and referrals.

    Some movement today with a tent community that has been set up outside of Confederation Building in St. John’s. Over the last week, government officials have joined community partners on multiple occasions, to visit people living in tents. As part of these efforts, all individuals have been offered shelter placements. Several individuals have completed both housing and income support applications, while several individuals have made other community connections and referrals. The Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation are continuing efforts to secure more permanent housing options for others at the site. Individuals in Corner Brook seeking supports to obtain housing can call the NL Housing Regional office at 709-639-5201.
