Holyrood RCMP looking for other people in NL affected by a Facebook Marketplace scam

    Anyone who commits fraud or a cybercrime could face real consequences, including potential jail time, a criminal record, and limitations on travel and employment.

    Holyrood RCMP are looking into an online scam and feel there could be more people throughout the province who could have been affected. Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says last month, a resident paid a deposit via e-transfer for a purchase from Facebook Marketplace. He says the social media account and email address were connected with other suspicious online activity.
