On Saturday, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Deer Lake RCMP were called to Route 401 near Kelly’s Point in Howley, where they found a vehicle, still running but off the road and the driver, a 37-year-old man from New Brunswick was inside.
Six drivers are facing impaired charges after being picked up by RCMP this past weekend and three of them were on the west coast. On Saturday, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Deer Lake RCMP were called to Route 401 near Kelly’s Point in Howley. where they found a vehicle, still running but off the road and the driver, a 37-year-old man from New Brunswick was inside.
At 11:15 a.m., Bay St. George RCMP officers received a tip that a driver was operating a vehicle while intoxicated in the area of Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. The driver, a 60-year-old woman, refused to comply with a roadside breath test and was arrested.
Then, just after 4:00 p.m., Bay St. George RCMP conducted a traffic stop in Piccadilly. A 55-year-old man operating an ATV, pulling a trailer without a plate, failed a breath test.
All drivers had their vehicles seized and impounded and are due to appear in court during December.
