There was a special public event at Confederation Building in St. John’s on Friday in honour of those who have been killed or seriously injured in motor vehicle collisions. It was the annual World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. Government Services Minister Mike Goosney says it was an important day and very heartbreaking to hear stories from family members who had lost loved ones. He says safer communities are about much more than just policing and crime prevention, it’s also about safe roadways, safe schools, and safe spaces. Goosney was joined by representatives of MADD Canada, the STAND for Hannah Foundation, the RCMP and the RNC.
