Former Premier and Corner Brook MHA Danny Williams has fond memories and a deep love for the west coast. He admits to being known as a “towny developer” but says he’s always been interested in the environment. Recently, he and his wife Elizabeth, donated a 75 hectare parcel of land to the Nature Conservancy of Canada, who calls the land an “ecologically unique habitat for rare lichens.” Williams says the land is in an area across from the Wilds Golf Resort on the Salmonier Line. Williams says we live in a world of climate change and those who deny it exists but the onus is on everyone to protect the natural beauty and environment we have.
