    The forest fire hazard forecast is HIGH, VERY HIGH, & EXTREME today for parts of the province. Open or outdoor fires are not permitted where the index is VERY HIGH or EXTREME. Burning permits are invalid when the index is HIGH, VERY HIGH or EXTREME. To view provincial forest fire hazard maps, information on active forest fires and wildfire prevention information visit the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture website: https://www.gov.nl.ca/.../public.../forestry/forest-fires/
