Film and television production is a $1 billion business in NL

    PictureNL saw production activity of over $87 million, supporting nearly 1,500 full-time jobs and more than $926 million in production spending since the agency’s inception.

    Since rebranding to become PictureNL, over $1B has been spent on film and television production in this province. This milestone reflects the province’s emergence as a national leader in screen sector development, innovation and economic impact. Rebranded from the Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation, PictureNL saw production activity of over $87 million, supporting nearly 1,500 full-time jobs and more than $926 million in production spending since the agency’s inception. Key drivers of growth include incentives like the All-Spend Film and Video Production Tax Credit, as well as the Paul L. Pope Centre for Film and Television.
