    Fake $100 bill passed at a Corner Brook restaurant

    Businesses are advised to check any currency before accepting payment, and report any suspicious activity.

    Corner Brook RNC are looking into a case of counterfeit money being passed at a local restaurant. Cst James Cadigan says a customer paid for a meal with a fake $100 bill at the Maple Valley Drive establishment Tuesday afternoon. 

    Businesses are advised to check any currency before accepting payment, and report any suspicious activity.

    The investigation is ongoing, and the RNC asks anyone with information to contact 709-637-4100. Crimes in progress should be reported by calling 911. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit nlcrimestoppers.com.
