A federal election has already happened this year, the municipal election was last week, but the provincial election is Tuesday, October 14th. With the ongoing postal labour disruption, Elections NL is out with a plan so residents can vote knowing it will be conducted in a fair, democratic and accessible manner. Vote-by-Mail kit delivery is ongoing, using courier, messenger and cargo services, and voters must return their kits by October 9th to the nearest district office. Those who are homebound, in remote communities or need help returning a kit are asked to call 1-877-729-7987. Voter information cards are not being mailed out but will be available to download on the Elections NL website starting today (Monday, October 6.) Special ballot voting and advance polls will take place tomorrow. Election day is October 14th and polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
