Canadian Cancer Society Senior Manager Barbara Acampado-Kay says there is a direct link between cancer and alcohol.

Dry February is a fundraiser that challenges people to stop drinking alcohol for the month and raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. On Bayfm's "The Plain Truth” last week with host Paula Sheppard, she says alcohol and cancer rates are both high in this province, in fact the highest in Canada. Canadian Cancer Society Senior Manager Barbara Acampado-Kay says there is a direct link between cancer and alcohol. She says alcohol is cancer causing and by quitting you reduce the risks of nine different types of cancer. Acampado-Kay says money raised will help pay for life saving research and more.
