The Department of Fisheries and Oceans released a breif statement on social media Saturday.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans has confirmed that the 24 year-old woman who died in a plane crash in the Blow-Me-Down Mountains in Friday was an employee of the federal department.
In a brief post to social media Saturday, DFO said the aircraft, Cessna 337H Skymaster out of Quebec, was in western Newfoundland to conduct a scientific mission.
The department shared their devastation of the news and passed along condolences to the families and employees affected by the tradgedy.
Three other people were onboard the aircraft at the time and were transported to Western Memorial Regional Hospital with conditions varying from moderate to critical.
