Amanda Kirkpatrick says she will be heading to San Antonio, Texas in August to compete for the World title.
It’s been a couple of years, but a Deer Lake woman has a new crown and a new title to add to her list of pageantries. In May of 2023, Amanda Kirkpatrick won the title of Miss Canada United World. Recently, she competed in Toronto and walked away with the crown and title of “Ms Galaxy International.” Kirkpatrick says she will be heading to San Antonio, Texas in August to compete for the World title. Kirkpatrick is a survivor of childhood trauma, offers counselling services to other survivors, and has formed a non profit group called, “from Victim to Victor.” She says pageants are about so much more than just getting decked out in a fancy dress. This is the first time the title has been awarded to a Newfoundlander as well as someone from the east coast of Canada. Tune into Bayfm at 415 Tuesday afternoon November 25 to hear Dean Clarke talk with Amanda about her new title.
