Deer Lake RCMP investigates residential structure fire, seeks public’s assistance
Deer Lake RCMP and the Fire Commissioner’s Office of Newfoundland and Labrador are investigating a residential structure fire that occurred in Deer Lake on August 13, 2025.
Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Deer Lake RCMP received multiple 9-1-1 reports of a structure fire at a home on Clinic Drive. Police arrived on scene to find Deer Lake Fire Rescue actively battling the blaze. The fire caused significant damage to the home before it was fully extinguished by fire crews.
Two occupants were inside the home when the fire broke out, and both managed to escape without serious injury.
Deer Lake RCMP secured the scene overnight and a fire investigator with the provincial Fire Commissioner’s Office was expected to attend and examine the scene on Thursday.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
