Deer Lake has been added to the hard to fill list, government offers $200,000 for doctors

    .Health Minister Tom Osborne says there are 19 sites announced throughout the province for family care teams and there are 14 family care teams either partially or completely operational.

    Health Minister Tom Osborne made an announcement that wasn’t quite expected today. He was announcing the Family Care Team will open at Killick Health Services Centre in Grand Falls Winsor. Osborne says there are 19 sites announced throughout the province for family care teams and there are 14 family care teams either partially or completely operational. He says they are working closely with the NLMA to address challenges with human resources. Osborne says Deer Lake has also been added as a hard to fill location, and government is increasing the initiative for doctors to $200,000. He says government has upped the initiative to $300,000 to get doctors to work in Labrador.
