Fire broke out during the 7:00 p.m. hour Wednesday.
Emergency crews are on the scene of a structure fire at the former Mr. Wilson's Convenience Store on Clarence Street in Corner Brook.
Large plumes of black smoke could be seen throughout the area Wednesday evening as the building was engulfed in flames. Members of the Corner Brook Fire Department are battling the blaze while the RNC have nearby roads closed. An ambulance is also on-scene, however there is no word yet on any injuries, or if the building was occupied at the time of the fire.
The bottom portion of the building once housed the convenience store but has not been used in recent years, while the upstairs was a residential unit.
