Mayor Linda Chaisson says it all kicked off Friday night with the flag raising, torch lighting and parade to opening ceremonies at the Party in the Park where Leif the Lucky came out of his hut.
It’s day five at the 53rd Corner Brook Winter Carnival. Mayor Linda Chaisson says there’s plenty left to enjoy. On Bayfm with Lenny Benoit this morning, she says it all kicked off Friday night with the flag raising, torch lighting and parade to opening ceremonies at the Party in the Park. Leif the Lucky came out of his hut and Chaisson says at the Kin Variety show as last night, the high school kids stole the show with acts showing their excellent talent. 23 dogs competed Sunday at the dog show and the Liefling contest was also that day.
Meanwhile, the Mayor also congratulated Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit on his 3rd place at this past weekend’s chilli contest. It was a fundraiser for the Western Regional Hospital Foundation and 12 chefs took part serving about 225 people.
