Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne says trail networks on the west coast and northern peninsula represent one of the most significant tourism opportunities. He says it’s also one of the best health living opportunities for local residents. Byrne announced last week that the West Coast Cycling Association (WCCA) is getting $45K to develop a contained trail network in the Lower Humber Valley. He says a few years ago over three quarters of a million dollars was provided to the association to develop a long term plan. Government’s contribution will leverage $126,000 from other sources and a client investment of $23,000 for a total project cost of almost $195,000.
