Gerry Byrne says PEI is saying the $75 ferry fee destroys jobs, creates inflation, reduces consumer spending and is a barrier to exports.
Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne wants this province to be treated fairly like Prince Edward Island. He says the time has come to get a better ferry service by Marine Atlantic, a crown corporation and our transportation link to the rest of Canada. Byrne says this is an election issue and this about people so candidates in the federal ridings should explain how they feel about it. Byrne says PEI is saying the $75 ferry fee destroys jobs, creates inflation, reduces consumer spending and is a barrier to exports. He says Marine Atlantic charges much more for a similar service on the gulf. Byrne says PEI is getting a free transportation service and NL deserves the same.
