The Corner Brook Civic Centre was the site of a Community Well-Being Fair yesterday. The afternoon featured information booths form various agencies and organizations who promote well-being. Mayor Jim Parsons says we’ve heard of the Health Accord and other provincial government initiatives, and obviously there are healthcare needs from an acute care perspective, but he says there are many social determinants of health. Parsons says there are ways to make our community better for people from a socio-economic perspective and the city has really revamped recreation services over the past few years. He says the Older Adult Fitness Class with Nora Lundrigan at the Civic Centre is getting 70-100 people attend each class on Mondays and Wednesdays.
