The city of Corner Brook has issued an advisory ahead of expected weather this Wednesday. Mid-week will bring 15 to 30 cm of snow with local amounts between 30 and 40 cm, and wind gusts exceeding 80 to 100 km/h, rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm. With the heavy snow and blowing snow comes reduced visibility. This can lead to very poor driving conditions, travel delays, event cancellations and building closures, utility outages, wind damage, and flooding in low lying areas. The city advises stocking up on essentials today or tomorrow and avoid travel once conditions worsen. Meanwhile, the city’s on-street parking ban is in effect until May 1st, meaning vehicles must be parked in driveways by 12:00 a.m.
