Corner Brook awards $3.5 million asphalt contract to Marine Contractors Inc.

    The city also approved just over $101K to AllRock Consulting for inspection services during the 2025 paving season.

    At last night’s public meeting, the City of Corner Brook awarded a contract worth nearly $3.5 M to replace asphalt and do road repairs. An assessment was completed by staff to determine a street rehabilitation program. Tenders closed on June 3rd with only one bid received from Marine Contractors Inc. Mayor Jim Parsons says costs for asphalt continue to climb. The city also approved just over $101K to AllRock Consulting for inspection services during the 2025 paving season. Inspection cost in 2024 was $9.66 per tonnage of asphalt. Inspection cost in 2025 is $10.20 per tonnage of asphalt. Inspection hourly rate cost increased 5.6% from 2024
