One project concerns Marine health monitoring in Gros Morne National Park through the Atlantic Healthy Oceans Initiative.
It’s Conservation Corps Newfoundland and Labrador 32nd year of pan-provincial youth employment and this year 100 young people will be involved through 26 Corps throughout NL. These youth work with a network of Community Partners to advance locally determined environmental and cultural conservation priorities.
One project concerns Marine health monitoring in Gros Morne National Park through the Atlantic Healthy Oceans Initiative. Education and Communications coordinator Trina Voitk says two youth are working on a project called, “Creating a Plastic Waste-Free Gros Morne.” She says part of the project involves invasive species. Four young people will be establishing community gardens, education and engagement in Flat Bay with the band.
