Government is closing its Boston Office, a move that will save the province about $1M a year. The Provincial Government will continue to maintain strong relationships with partners in New England, now being managed from home base. Premier Tony Wakeham says “Closing our Boston Office is about making sure every public dollar is working as hard as possible for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.” He says “Global markets are shifting, and our approach to economic development has to evolve with them.” Meanwhile, opportunities will be pursued in established markets while expanding outreach in regions such as Asia and Europe.
