Residents are being reminded to turn their clocks back by one hour at 2 a.m. this Sunday. This marks the end of Daylight Saving Time and it’s also a good time to replace the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. The Department of Justice and Public Safety advises that smoke alarms should be installed on every level of your home, including the basement, in every bedroom and in the hallway or room outside each bedroom. Households or cabins that have a wood, oil or propane fuel-fired appliance should also have a carbon monoxide detector installed on each level of the structure.
