Premier Andrew Furey and former Premier Dwight Ball attended the new hospital today.
It’s a special recognition day for staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. It’s been just over a week since the move to the new acute care hospital on Cpl Pinksen Memorial took place. Corner Brook MHA Gerry Byrne joined Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit this morning to talk about the day. He says it’s been tough during all the hustle and bustle to celebrate what has been achieved over the past four years. It’s a celebration day for staff. Premier Andrew Furey and former Premier Dwight Ball attended the new hospital today. Byrne says the hospital is a place of many memories and experiences but the new hospital is state of the art. Meanwhile Byrne says the WMR School of Pharmacy is celebrating its’ 50th anniversary this year. He says space is an issue they are working to resolve.
