The statement reads, “ Weather conditions in the past few months have been difficult causing unsafe conditions on roads and sidewalks for delivery agents to deliver to customers. "

Canada Post has issued a statement after receiving a request from Bayfm News. This after recent stories with the Mayor and a resident of Corner Brook talking about the lack of timely mail delivery in the city. The statement reads, “ Weather conditions in the past few months have been difficult causing unsafe conditions on roads and sidewalks for delivery agents to deliver to customers. They apologize to customers for the lack of communication this season and thank them for their patience. Going forward, they will ensure they provide information to customers on mail delays if they anticipate prolonged interruptions where roads and sidewalks pose health and safety risks to delivery agents. In addition, if there are issues in delivering the mail in the future, they will ensure to communicate this through the media and customer service team, and provide an alternative for customers to get their mail.”

If customers have questions regarding mail delivery and where to pick up their mail in the interim, they can contact Canada Post's Customer Service team online at canadapost.ca/support or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301 (TTY: 1-800-267-2797).
