It’s a camp made for youth by youth and has continued to grow since 2018 as the first LGBTQ+ summer camp in Western Newfoundland. On this week’s edition of the Plain Truth, host Paula Sheppard speaks with long time camp supporter Sarah Penney Flynn, who says the purpose of Camp Ohana is to provide a place of resources and community. Penney-Flynn says they’re expanding the camp to include an adult camp. This year’s Camp OHana is taking place at West Haven camp from August 16th to the 18th.
