During the past year, the City bought two new salt trucks to maintain safer winter roads and equipment to improve the usage of salt.
Part of Corner Brook’s Budget 2026 includes money to buy a new combined plow truck and salter. This would be similar to the equipment used by the Department of Highways. As well, more resources will be going towards sidewalk snow clearing, with a focus on the downtown core. The city currently has 8 snow plows and 5 sand/salt trucks.
