It’s already been used in a couple of searches and this past weekend a new Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue truck was part of a couple of Christmas parades in Corner Brook and Humber Arm South. Jess Turner is the Community Events Coordinator. She says they started to fundraise for the new vehicle back in March and the new Ford F250 cost about $70K, and it’s much bigger and more powerful to tow things like their ice rescue trailer and command centre.
Turner says people like what they see and members will be so much safer with this new truck. BOISAR would like to say “THANK YOU” to the many businesses, individuals. communities and organizations that helped make this possible.
