A fountain in the middle of Blomidon Golf Course in Corner Brook was a big waste of water so a decision was made to turn it off. This after the city needed to shut down the water treatment plant and replace a valve. At Monday night’s public council meeting, Director of Public Works Donald Burden said the water treatment plant was shut down for almost 5 hours last Thursday. He says with limited reserves of water they had to find solutions with other sources of water being used. Burden says they haven’t turned the fountain water back on and it will stay like that while they work on a plan. Leaving the water off at the fountain will not affect operations at the golf club.
