A Benoit’s Cove man is facing charges after a traffic stop on Thursday. RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation (JFO) West stopped two vehicles at the lookout area of the Lewin Parkway in Corner Brook which resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Matthew Batt. Police came upon the two parked vehicles and recognized the occupants as being involved in illicit drug activities. Batt was found in possession of cocaine, a quantity of cash and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking. Three other people were released without charge. Batt was released from police custody and is set to appear in court at a later date.
