Benoit's Cove man accused of killing a 91-year-old pedestrian is back in jail

    37-year-old Matthew Batt was in court this week on five charges of breaching his release order but the matter has been set over for later this month.

    A Benoit’s Cove man  accused in connection with the death of a 91-year-old pedestrian has broken conditions of his release a number of times and  is now waiting for another bail hearing. 37-year-old Matthew Batt was in court this week on five charges of breaching his release order but the matter has been set over for later this month. He was released from custody October 1st, charged with impaired driving from September 29th when he struck  the elderly man in the Georgetown Road area.
