Bayfm Manager Lenny Benoit was one of twelve people to receive the Newfoundland and Labrador Confederation 75th Anniversary medal at a ceremony in Corner Brook yesterday afternoon (December 30th). Benoit is no stranger to the people of the city and as far as radio airwaves can take him. As a strong promoter of community and an active volunteer for groups like the Corner Brook Kinsmen, Benoit says it’s very humbling to be recognized this way. Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture Minister Gerry Byrne was there to present the medals to others including Gladys Batten, Rt Rev Percy Coffin, Sandra Elms, Dexter Fudge, Donna Luther, Rt Rev Stewart Payne, fr Edward Terry, Betty Waterman, Dr. Cliff Westby, and Dr. Joe Wijay. Another ceremony will be held to invest Rex Brown, John Brothers, Linda Chaisson, Vaughn Granter and Tom Marshall.
