Some RCMP officers in Stephenville had to be treated for minor injuries after arresting a Bay St. George man last week. 23-year old Stefan King was arrested after a struggle and being tasered early last Thursday morning. This after police were called to an altercation and theft of a truck in St. George’s. A woman reported it but two men were also on scene looking for the same man suspected of trying to steal an ATV earlier. RCMP allege King assaulted one of the men, dragged them both while trying to get away, and then crashed the truck in Stephenville Crossing. RCMP Cpl Jesse O’Donaghey says they found King at a nearby home and he would not comply, resulting in the use of the taser. O’Donaghey says all injuries were non-life threatening. King’s next court appearance has been set for December 8th.
