Police approached the driver, who was found to be driving without insurance. A 20-year-old woman was ticketed and her vehicle was impounded. Garland says later that afternoon, police caught a senior man doing more than double the posted speed limit. She says the 72 year old man was doing 147 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone. As well, Garland says Deer Lake RCMP seized 4 vehicles in less than 24 hours this past weekend and two drivers were charged with impaired driving.
