Members of the team will be doing Ice/Cold Water Rescue Training starting tomorrow at the Curling Marina.
It’s not often that a volunteer group has too many people wanting to sign up but this past December, the team roster at Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue reached 50 members! Jessica Turner is the Community Events Coordinator and has been part of the team for 7 years. She says there was an influx of new members last year, but it takes time to train volunteers.
Meanwhile, Turner says members of the team will be doing Ice/Cold Water Rescue Training starting tomorrow at the Curling Marina. Bay of Islands Volunteer Search and Rescue will post a notification on their social media accounts when the new member application cycle begins.
