At a time when most of us are thinking about snowballs, some people in Corner Brook have a focus on baseball. Yes, that’s right, baseball is a 12 month thing here. Jason Mosher is the President of the Corner Brook Baseball Association (CBBA). On Bayfm this morning with Lenny Benoit, Mosher says they started Barons Academy about a year ago, practicing above Western Pet Supply on Broadway. He says there needs to be a certain number of players to make something like this work and there is great support from the CBBA. As well, he says members from the Pasadena Pirates also help during the winter event. The next session starts January 5th.
Mosher says it includes male and female from ages 5 under to the 18 under group. They depend on fundraising year round to keep things going and the latest effort is finishing up tomorrow at the Corner Brook Plaza. They’re selling tickets on a 2026 928 Honda Snowblower, and will make the draw tomorrow afternoon.
