The Auditor General of Newfoundland and Labrador, Denise Hanrahan, has delivered her report on the province’s 2023 Financial Statement Audits. The report provides observations on the audit of the Consolidated Summary Financial Statements, and outlines opportunities for improvement across the public sector. Hanrahan says she “encourages government to take the necessary steps to remedy the issues outlined in the 2023 financial statement audits - especially given there were 91 outstanding issues across the government reporting entity, up from 30 in 2022 and some of have been reported on previously.”
