Jobs, Immigration and Growth Minister Gerry Byrne says the province is ready for an influx of tourists with 15,000 expected for the Canada Games alone.
Government is expecting an increase in visitors to the province this year with the Canada Games coming among other events. Yesterday at an announcement of just over $208K to train restaurant and beverage staff, the question was asked if stakeholders believe there could be numbers greater than pre-pandemic levels. Jeremy Bonia is the program co-developer and also owns a restaurant. He says people are hopeful tourism levels will return.
