Mayor Jim Parsons says the splash pad at Margaret Bowater Park may be opening sooner than July 1st and the first Sounds of Summer event starts this weekend at Bartlett’s Point.
Thanks to an early spring, the city of Corner Brook is getting a jump on recreation. Mayor Jim Parsons joined Bayfm’s Lenny Benoit to talk about what’s happening in the city. He says parks are getting ready to open and the splash pad at Margaret Bowater Park may be opening sooner than July 1st and the first Sounds of Summer event starts this weekend at Bartlett’s Point. Meanwhile, the Mayor says paving operations are continuing throughout the city and motorists can expect delays with work going on between the high school and Corporal Pinksen Memorial Drive. Parsons says next week there will be major work taking place in the Curling area where workers will be replacing a retaining wall near the War Memorial.
