In a little over a month’s time, Amanda Kirkpatrick will be boarding a plane in Deer Lake to head to Texas. She won the title of Miss Canada United World in May. Kirkpatrick dropped into the BayFM studio to talk about the pageant. “This pageant unites so many people and it was such a sisterhood,” she says. Kirkpatrick says her platform is called, From Victim to Victor. “It’s about childhood trauma and sexual trauma,” she says. “I am a survivor and I’m here to help overcome triggers and help them reach their goals.” Kirkpatrick will compete in the Miss United World Competition next month in Austin, Texas.
