Five tourism-related projects on the west coast will share in $1.1 M in funding from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. Kody Blois is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister and MP for Kings-Hants in Nova Scotia. He was at the Blow me Down Cross Country Ski Club this morning to make the announcement on behalf of ACOA Minister Sean Fraser. Blois dropped into the Bayfm studio for a chant with Lenny Benoit and breaks down where the funding is going to help upgrade and complete trail systems and boost tourism by enhancing year round visitor experiences. Blois says while this isn’t a huge announcement, what these groups do with the funding is amazing and investments like this become an economic catalyst for the region. Work will include enhancements to the Cape Blow-Me-Down trail, the Humber Valley Trail, the snowmobile trail from Corner Brook to Pasadena, upgrades to the Man in the Mountain trail and a Geopark in the Bay of Islands.
